In hopes of solving the case, the authority goes through the footage that the group has filmed and discovers an entity known as the ...。宿命的相逢之后，佐佐木小次郎（鶴田浩二饰）苦练技艺，一心打败宫本武藏（三船敏郎饰）。这之后，小次郎来至江户谋求官职，期间与同在江户的武藏邂逅，两人约定东门决斗。然决斗前夜，武藏致信请求将决斗延期一年。次日武藏和城太郎（樱井将纪饰）、熊五郎（田中春男饰）旅行来至乡下，师徒三人一面锄地耕作，一面教习农民武艺，抵抗土匪。这期间阿通（八千草薰饰）和朱实（冈田茉莉子饰）先后来此寻找武藏，朱实更在匪乱中不幸丧命。一年后，小次郎成为细川家臣，岩流岛将成为他和武藏的命运转折点……。
