和建筑师汉内斯恋爱七年的女电视节目主持人卡伦准备在一家名叫“浪漫喷泉饭店”的乡村饭店举行婚礼，由于“蝴蝶丛中”饭店的伙计在路标上做了手脚，她找错了饭店。汉内斯在街上巧遇尼娜，为了验证朋友的理论，他鲁莽地亲吻了尼娜，没想到尼娜正是“蝴蝶丛中”饭店的老板。卡伦去了纽约，把筹备婚礼的事留给了汉内斯。在短暂的接触中，他爱上了尼娜。卡伦回来后，汉内斯没有勇气向她坦白，谁知卡伦却向他承认自己已经移情别恋。于是他们决定取消婚礼。然而，意外的误会又使有情人之间出现了致命的裂痕，如果不是尼娜及时醒悟，世界又会多两对痴男怨女……。Here's a modern-day film noir in which you're never sure what's real and what isn't real.
