偶然机缘穿越于过去和未来、东方和西方的罗马帝国浴场设计师路西斯·慕德斯特（阿部宽 饰），将“扁脸族”日本人的汤文化移植到罗马浴场的设计中来，由此得到皇帝哈德良（市村正亲 饰）以及国民的热爱和推崇。哈德良致力建立一个和平祥和的帝国，但是元老院则煽动人民的好战情绪，通过角斗场的血腥杀戮激发百姓的嗜血情怀。忧心忡忡的路西斯临危受命，数次回到日本寻找灵感，为受伤疲惫的奴隶战士以及远征在外的帝国继承者凯欧尼乌斯（北村一辉 饰）设计疗伤的浴场，于是便和转为温泉杂志编辑的山越真实（上户彩 饰）再度相逢。狂怒的暴风雨即将到来，路西斯和真实的命运被紧紧系在了一起…… 本片根据漫画家山崎麻里的同名原作改编。。A company of friends rises in the funicular to meet unforgettably New Year's Eve on the top of the mountain.
